Advocacy Chair, Texas Foreign Language Association (TFLA)
Pamela Young taught Spanish and French for twenty-four years before retiring in May of 2014. She taught at all levels from preschool to the junior college level during that time. She helped found a FLES program in Midland, Texas that continues in a magnet school to this day. During the foundation of that program, she served as the lead teacher for the five other teachers located at various campuses throughout the district.
Currently, Ms. Young is serving as Advocacy Chair for the Texas Foreign Language Association. Previously, she served as the Vice President, President Elect, President, and Past President for that same organization. As part of her duties as Advocacy Chair, she is serving on the SWCOLT Board, as well. In addition to serving on the TFLA Board, Ms. Young has done numerous presentations on activities for the classroom in the spirit of sharing her years of experience with the next generation.
